The portfolio of projects of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Azerbaijan amounted to over 1.15 billion euro as of early May 2020, Trend reports referring to a source in the EBRD.
According to the source, the loan portfolio is intended for the implementation of 35 projects.
Most of the projects (78 percent, or 899 million euro) accounted for investments in sustainable infrastructure, 20 percent, or nearly 234 million euro, for investments in industry, trade and agriculture, and two percent, or 20 euro million, for investments in financial institutions.
The EBRD allocated loans totaling 17 million euros to implement six projects in Azerbaijan in 2020. Over the past four years, this figure has reached 857 million euros (lending to 34 projects in the public and private sectors of Azerbaijan).
In general, to date, the bank has invested in Azerbaijan over 3.1 billion euros for 176 projects.
The bank has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1992 and is the leading investor in the country.
