The Azerbaijani population's total bank deposits made up over 8.3 billion manat ($4.8 billion) as of early May 2021, Trend reports referring to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this is 7.7 percent or 594.9 million manat ($349.9 million) more compared to early May 2020.
About 10.8 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for districts, the CBA report said.
Over 51.3 percent or 4.2 billion manat ($2.4 billion) of the population’s bank deposits accounted for the national currency, the report reads.
The total volume of deposits exceeded 7.4 billion manat ($4.3 billion) in Baku, of which 3.5 billion ($2 billion) - in national currency (47 percent).
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate throughout the country as of early May 2021 amounted to 3.24 percent, and in Baku – 3.11 percent.
