Azerbaijani Accounts Chamber revises up 2020 expenses of state budget

The initially approved amount of the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2020 has been increased during the expenditure revision, Azerbaijani Accounts Chamber’s report about the budget’s implementation for last year said, Trend reports on June 9.

According to the chamber, the amount was increased by 597.5 million manat ($351.4 million), or 2.2 percent. As a result, the budget expenditures were approved in the amount of 27.49 billion manat.

The chamber’s report said that despite the increase in expenditures during the revision, the total amount of executed expenditures decreased by 478.4 million manat ($281.4 million), or 1.8 percent of the originally approved amount.

During the revision, the sum of nine sections of the functional classification of expenses was reduced by 428.3 million manat ($251.9 million), and in three sections - increased by slightly over 1 billion manat ($590 million).

According to the report of the Accounting Chamber, during the revision, changes were made at the level of 0.2-25.4 percent of the originally approved amounts by section.

In 2020, a deficit of over 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion) was formed in the state budget of Azerbaijan.
