Most of settlements in Azerbaijan's trade turnover accounts for freely convertible currency

Most of the settlements in Azerbaijan's trade turnover were made in freely convertible currency from January through May 2021, Trend reports with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

The settlements in freely convertible currency on export operations amounted to $4.2 billion or 56.21 percent of all types of export settlements, which is by 12.5 percent more than from January through May 2020.

The settlements in freely convertible currency on import in the reporting period amounted to $3.6 billion or 82.23 percent of all types of payments on import, which is by 2.2 percent more on an annualized basis.

As of early June, the settlements in manat in Azerbaijan's trade turnover reached $7.6 million, which is 9.9 percent less than in the same period of last year. This figure is estimated at $315.4 million in imports, increasing by 5.7 percent for the year.

Other export transactions amount to about $3.2 billion, increasing by 0.009 percent per annum.

The share of other export transactions reached 43.61 percent of all types of settlements.

The import transactions in this category increased by 37 percent up to $450.8 million. The share of such transactions in all types of import settlements is 10.26 percent.

Some $7.4 billion accounted for export while $4.4 billion accounted for import in the structure of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through May 2021.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis increased by 8.1 percent, but remained positive, amounting to $3.03 billion.
