As a result of control measures carried out by the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan, the public funds worth 12.4 million manat ($7.3 million) were restored during the first six months of 2021, Trend reports referring to the conclusion of the Chamber for the first half of 2021.
In accordance with the work plan for 2021, the Board of the Chamber of Accounts made decisions on the appropriate measures for financial violation, covering a total of 15.1 million manat ($8.9 million).
The relevant central executive power structures in 10 cases and the higher executive power structure in one case were informed about the distortion of financial statements, the transfer of funds to the letters of credit, the lack of reasonable forecasting and reporting on the use of funds, non-payment of income tax and other mandatory payments, failure to return the certain expenses in public procurement, failure to fulfill the obligations related to the funds from the accounts of deposits and guarantees.
Proceeding from the results of control measures, the files on two cases were sent to the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's General Office.
The Board of Chamber of Accounts, on the basis of the work plan for 2021, decided to conduct 28 audit inspections for six months of this year.
