Buy & sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange declared

A total of 1.43 million tons of goods worth more than 81.7 trillion rials (about $1.94 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (August 7 through August 12, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of 42 percent in terms of value, while an increase of 40 percent in terms of volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (July 31 through August 5, 2021).

So, 1.03 million tons of goods worth more than 141 trillion rials (about $3.34 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, about 1.05 million tons of goods worth about 34.4 trillion rials (about $819 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"About 122,000 tons of steel, 1,980 tons of copper, 3,360 tons of aluminum, 120 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tons of precious metal concentrate, 425 tons of zinc ingots, 845,000 tons of cement, 90,000 tons of iron ore and 10 kg of gold bars were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 369,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 46 trillion rials (about $1.09 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 124,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 50,100 tons of bitumen, 75,700 tons of polymeric substances, 39,500 tons of chemicals, 49,000 tons of lube cut, 3,380 tons of base oil, 100 tons of argon, 1,100 tons of facades and 24,600 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 7,290 tons of various products worth 1.27 trillion rials (about $30 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
