Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange increase

A total of 2.24 million tons of goods worth more than 183 trillion rials (about $4.36 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (October 30 through November 4, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 54 percent in terms of value and 31 percent in terms of volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (October 23 through October 28, 2021).

So, 1.71 million tons of goods worth more than 118 trillion rials (about $2.82 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.87 million tons of goods worth about 123 trillion rials (about $2.95 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"About 1.04 million tons of cement, 526,000 tons of steel, 260,000 tons of iron ore, 27,000 tons of sponge iron, 7,900 tons of zinc, 4,710 tons of aluminum, 4,370 tons of copper, 280 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 30 tons of precious metal concentrate, 2 kg gold bars were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 365,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 58.9 trillion rials (about $1.4 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 108,000 tons of bitumen, 98,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 75,900 tons of polymeric substances, 42,000 tons of lube cut, 38,300 tons of chemicals, 3,320 tons of base oil, 248 tons of facades, and 860 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 4,260 tons of various products worth 1 trillion rials (about $23.8 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
