Amount of loans issued to startups in Iran skyrocket

The amount of loans issued by Iranian banks to startup companies in the country increased by 127 percent, during the first 10 months of the current year (March 21, 2021, through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 509 trillion rials (about $12.1 billion) to 1,176 startups in 10 months.

The largest loans in 10 months were provided by the Bank Melli Iran for 82 trillion rials (about $1.95 billion), by the Bank Mellat Iran for 81 trillion rials (about $1.92 billion), and by Bank Saderat Iran for 68.6 trillion rials (about $1.63 billion).

Within 10 months, state-owned banks issued loans worth 141 trillion rials (about $3.36 billion), private banks - 172 trillion rials (about $4.09 billion), while financial institutions - 196 trillion rials (about $4.67 billion).
