The loan portfolio of banks increased by 18.1 percent in Azerbaijan in January 2022 compared to January 2021, exceeding 16.8 billion manat ($9.9 billion), Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 13.7 billion manat ($8.05 billion) in January 2021.
According to the CBA, 9.7 billion manat ($5.7 billion) accounted for business loans (an increase of 24.7 percent for the year), 4.6 billion manat ($2.7 billion) accounted for consumer loans (an increase of 15.2 percent for the year), 2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion) accounted for mortgage loans (an increase of 17.6 percent for the year) in the structure of the loan portfolio in January 2022.
