The spending by foreign citizens in Azerbaijan through bank cards in January 2022 grew, the Azerbaijani Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication told Trend.
According to the center, this figure amounted to 204.7 million manat ($120.4 million), up by 179.7 million manat or $105.7 million (8.18 times) compared to January 2021.
Last year, foreigners spent 1.3 billion manat ($760 million) in Azerbaijan through bank cards, which is the growth of 870 million manat ($511.7 million), or three times on an annual basis.
In 2020, the spending equaled 430.2 million manat ($253 million), thus increasing by 65.7 percent year on year.
