BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Amount of the money in the account of the National Development Fund of Iran amounted to $29 billion at the end of last Iranian year (March 20, 2022), an official of the National Development Fund Mohammad Mehdi Bakhshi said, Trend reports citing the Fund’s website.

The official said that since the establishment of the National Development Fund of Iran (2010) to the end of last Iranian year (March 20, 2022), a certain percentage of Iran's crude oil and gas export revenues were transferred to the Fund's account. The total amount of the money was $139 billion.

“Of this, $110 billion - about 79 percent - was provided to the government and the private sector as loans,” he added.

According to Bakhshi, $74 billion has been provided to the government, while $36 billion - to the private sector.

The official also pointed out that repayment of loans began three years ago, and a total of over $7 billion worth of loans have been repaid to the fund within the mentioned period.
