BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Money supply (M2) in manat in Azerbaijan grew in May 2022, Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to CBA, this figure amounted to 25.3 billion manat ($14.8 billion), up by 3.7 billion manat ($2.1 billion) or 17.39 percent compared to last year’s May (21.6 billion manat or $12.7 billion).

The bank also said that in May this year, cash money in circulation (M0) increased by 597 million manat ($351 million), or 5.6 percent - from 10.65 billion or $6.26 billion (recorded in the same month of 2021) to 11.2 billion manat ($6.6 billion).

Meanwhile, expanded money supply (M3) rose by 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 billion, or 21.49 percent) - up to 37 billion manat ($21 billion), versus 30.4 billion manat ($17.8 billion) a year earlier.

Money supply for transactions (M1) grew by 3.1 billion manat ($1.8 billion or 16.83 percent) over the year - from 18.7 billion manat ($11 billion) to 21.8 billion manat ($12.8 billion).
