BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. The state budget expenditures of Azerbaijan grew in nominal terms by 1.8 times from 2011 through 2021, Trend reports via "Strategy for socio-economic development of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026".

According to the strategy, in the reporting period, the state budget funds were actively used both to support social welfare and to ensure investments in economic activities.

Besides, according to the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan, the expenditures of the state budget of Azerbaijan in the first half of 2022 were executed by 12.9 billion manat or $7.6 billion (100.6 percent of the forecast).

In the reporting period, over 8.7 billion manat ($5.1 billion), or 67.4 percent of the total state budget expenditures, were allocated for current expenditures from the state budget, which is an increase of 1.05 billion manat ($620 million), or 13.8 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

At the same time, the main expenses amounted to 3.4 billion manat or $2 billion (26.5 percent), up by 382.7 million manat or $225.1 million (12.5 percent) in annual terms.

A total of 787.7 million manat ($463.3 million), or 6.1 percent, fell on expenses related to servicing public debt and obligations, down by 95.8 million manat ($56.3 million), or 10.8 percent year on year.
