Buy/sell operations at Iranian Mercantile Exchange down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. A total of 1.86 million tons of goods worth 104 trillion rials (about $2.48 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) last Iranian week (August 20 through August 25, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of 49.7 percent in value and 27.6 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (August 13 through August 18, 2022).

So, 2.57 million tons of goods worth 207 trillion rials (about $4.93 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, 1.55 million tons of goods worth about 60.2 trillion rials (about $1.43 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section include cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, zinc, aluminum, copper, molybdenum concentrate, gold bars and etc.

In addition, over 300,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 43.7 trillion rials (about $1.04 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, vacuum bottom, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, bitumen and etc.

At the same time, 11,000 tons of various products worth 300 billion rials (about $7.14 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
