Azerbaijan discloses loan amount issued in Baku, districts

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29. The loans issued in Azerbaijan’s capital and other districts amounted to 19.157 billion manat ($11.26 billion) as of September 30, 2022, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

This figure edged up by 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion), or 23.29 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (15.5 billion manat or $8.9 billion).

According to the CBA, loans worth 14.757 billion manat ($8.67 billion) were issued in Baku, which was 3.35 times higher than in the districts. The credits were issued in national currency and accounted for 77.03 percent of the city's total lending.

The average annual interest rate on the country’s loans totaled 12.22 percent, out of which Baku made up 10.57 percent.
