Robbery in Postal Branch to Change Azerpocht’s View on Security System

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / Robbery caused death of two employees of postal branch of the Azerpocht in Ganja, would change the view on security system in postal departments, Hasanali Gadimov, the deputy director on finance issues of Azerpocht, said on 16 October.

Two employees, Bakhtiyar Bayramov and Samandar Samandarov, of the postal branch were murdered as a result of the robbery took place in Ganja City of Azerbaijan. Robbers took AZN 37,000 and hidden.

"It was a planned robbery. The robbers new that money had been in the branch," Gadimov said.

Subhan Kazimov, the deputy director of Azerpocht on postal issues, visited the place of the incident in order to get more detailed information about the case.

"All the necessary measures will be undertaken to prevent similar cases in the future," Gadimov said.

Ganja City is located 365km west of Baku.

Robbery was committed by several men, Alziman Badalov, the chief investigator of Ganja City Prosecutor General's Office, reported. There were witnesses. Two guns of Macarov brand were revealed in the place of the incident, Badalov said.

PA "Azerpocht" consists of post offices, 2 post enterprises, 2 subsidiaries, and 8 telecommunication exchanges. Covering Azerbaijan's all cities, towns, villages and settlements, a total of 1.300 post-offices comprise the Production Association. Over 4.200 people are currently the employees of PA "Azerpocht".
