Azercell Introduces New Payment Card for Postpaid Subscribers

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Azercell Telecom, a leading mobile operator in Azerbaijan, offers for its postpaid subscribers the payment card in the amount of 10 AZN, which are on use since 1 November, 2007

As of November 1, 2007 Azercell offers for its postpaid subscribers the payment card in the amount of 10 AZN.

The payment card is a special talon, enabling to current accounts or cover debts. Currently the company offers scratch cards with the cost of 10 AZN, 20 AZN, 40 AZN, 100 AZN, 200 AZN.

Azercell has over 94,000 postpaid subscribers.

The number of subscribers to Azercell Telecom is expected to increase. Today, the number of subscribers exceeds 2.8mln. The company covers 78% of the country's territory and 99% of the population of Azerbaijan with its mobile communication network.

Azercell JSC was established on 19 January 1996 by Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A S and the Azerbaijan Ministry of Telecommunications.

Azercell Telekom is a joint venture of the Azerbaijani Telecommunication and IT Ministry (35.7%) and Fintur Holdings BV (64.3 %), with 58.55% belonging to TeliaSonera and 41.45% to Turkcell.
