GAID to Assemble 15 Communications Ministries in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID) will hold a communications administrations meeting in Baku before the 13th Azerbaijani international exhibition of 'Telecommunications and IT' - BakuTel 2007, the Azerbaijani Communications & IT Minister Ali Abbasov reported.

The meeting will involve countries with a developing IT market.

According to the Minister, Communications Ministers from over 15 countries will be in attendance. Moldova, Russia, Iran, Turkey and India have confirmed their intentions to participate in the meeting.

The countries will discuss the development of the communications and IT sector and expansion of cooperation in the field.

The meeting is expected to take place on 20 November, the head of PR, Advertisements and Marketing Department of Iteca Caspian (organizer of BakuTel 2007) Susanna Burezgi said.

BakuTel 2007 will take place in Baku on 21 to 24 November and will involve 100 companies from 15 counties, such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, the United States, Finland, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, France, China and others. Korea will for the first time take part in the exhibition with a national stand.

The Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union ITU Hamadoun Toure is expected to attend BakuTel 2007.
