( Mobile ) - Seemingly taking a page out of Motorola's book, the Samsung SLM is a skinny clamshell-style cell phone that will soon be available through AT& T. To many people, the Samsung SLM will be immediately reminiscent of the Motorola RAZR. After all, the physical comparison is inevitable, as is the lack of vowels in the model's name. I guess Samsung's spin is to use three letters (SLM) instead of four (RAZR, RIZR, PEBL, etc.).
In terms of features and specs, the AT& T-bound Samsung SLM comes equipped with all sorts of music and multimedia capabilities, including Napster Mobile. This is the first handset to feature that wireless music store. Other niceties include AT& T Video Share, mobile banking, AT& T Mobile Music, stereo Bluetooth, 2.0 megapixel camera, microSD expansion, and "advanced messaging options," whatever that means.
It's a speedy little devil with dual-band 3G, but it'll stay nice and compact at just 3.17 ounces and about 0.5-inches thick. The SLM by Samsung will be available this Friday with an asking price of $150 when you sign a two-year contract and take advantage of a $50 mail-in rebate.
