Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / We need introducing tax and customs privileges in Azerbaijan in order to draw potential investors to implement the Regional Innovation Zones (RIZ) project, Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijani Communication and IT Minister, said on 22 November.
According to the Minister, it is necessary to carry out measures directed to protection of intellectual property of both local and foreign investors.
"All these issues were reflected in the proposals concerning creation of RIZ in the country," Abbasov said.
RIZ project enables to increase communication revenues of the country to $4bln to 2012, as well as to $10 or $12bln to 2018, 2020
RIZ project stipulates creation of technical parks for development of small-scale and middle-scale innovation entrepreneurship, as well as transformation of the country to Data Centre, introduction of IT in different fields and many others.
A set of proposals developed by the Booz Allen Hamilton consulting company and participation of local and international experts was submitted to the Government several months ago.
