Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / On 17 December Azerbaijan's mobile operator Azerfon JV, in co-operation with Azerbaijan State Economic University, presented "Let's go for career" project.
"We want to develop business skills of the Azerbaijani students and assist them in seeking jobs because often the Azerbaijani students who graduate from the universities can not find jobs in accordance with their specialties," said Natalia Armley, Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant of Azerfon.
The program is aimed at assisting Azerbaijani young people in selecting their specialties and providing students with necessary knowledge and skills needed to apply in their further individual career development.
For the purpose of development of information recourses within the frame of this project, it is planned to conduct specialized trainings for the students on the topics 'Skills in seeking jobs', 'Planning career' in Baku and regions of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the program aims to establish a book fund regarding career development, establish web-pages of the project and computer network, conduct Career Summer School and various contests. The support in realizing project is being provided by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies.
"This is a very beneficial project for us because in this way, we can attract talented youth in our company," Armley said.
She did not highlight the cost of the project due to confidentiality. "Those envisaged in the project will be provided free of charge for the students. However as regards to Azerfon, we, as a new company, try to use more effective methods of expenses. Naturally as a new operator, our key expenses are spent on the establishment of networks and therefore, we found an opportunity to realize the project with minimal expenses with the participation of our partners," the consultant said.
The new GSM operator - AZERFON LLC was licensed No. 001512 by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technolo gies of Azerbaijan Republic in December, 2005 to provide mobile services with new GSM standards throu ghout the territory of Azerbaijan.
