Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 January / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijan Government is considering the opportunities for establishment of a unified enterprise for the international communications elations, using the land stations by merging the three communications enterprises - Aztelekom, Baku Telephone Communications and Teleradio.
Karam Hasanov, the head of the State Committee on State Property Privatization, said to a news conference on 16 January that the international audit companies Ernst & Young and Azerbaijani Omni were engrossed as consultants to review the issue on the establishment of such enterprise.
"A draft on presidential decree, for the establishment of Azertelekom, has been developed," Hasanov said.
Established in 1992, Aztelekom production association, which is a part of the Communications Ministry, provides long-distance and city telephone communications in the territory of the country. It has 54 telecommunication enterprises, Baku city telephone junction, the cable highway technical junction and the repair & construction management.
Baku Telephone communications, which is part of the Communications Ministry, is involved in rendering services -in the telephone radio communications in the territory of Baku for the state establishment and organizations, enterprises, as well as the foreign juridical persons,.
Teleradio production association, a part of the Communications Ministry, is involved in broadcasting the state, private, foreign radio and television programs in Azerbaijan.
