Hewlett Packard Recognizes Importance of Azerbaijani Telecommunications Market

Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 January / corr Trend S.Babayeva / Azerbaijan is a rapdly growing country in the CIS and this is very important to us, Vladimir Yanushkevic, the head of Hewlett Packard (HP) Corporate Sales Departemnt for CIS, stated in Baku.

"The Azerbaijani IT market marches in line with world tendencies and we are pleased to apply advanced technologies here," he said.

Yanushkevic noted that improvement in information technology was observed in Azerbaijan, which is seen in the transition from quality to quality.

HP's operations in former Soviet Union countries began in 1968. The company is represented in all CIS countries and in Mongolia. HP opened its branch in Azerbaijan in July 2004 with the right to conduct commercial activities

The official representative of HP in CIS countries is responsible for companies operating in Azerbaijan, alongside cooperating with large corporate clients, developing small and medium sized businesses and retail trade.

As a result of the 2007 fiscal year the total turnover of HP made up $105.8bln. Revenue in CIS countries rose 37% compared to the previous year.

During this period HP realized projects for the State Social Security Fund of Azerbaijan and the Eductaion Ministry and opened an education center in Baku to suppot Azerbaijani youth.
