Aztelekom & Komplas Select Equipment for NGN in Azerbaijan Regions

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 April / Trend corr S. Babayeva/ The Aztelekom PA of the Azerbaijani Telecommunications and IT Ministry and the Komplas company are selecting optimal equipment for construction of a universal multi-purpose New Generation Network (NGN) in the regions of the country, Aztelekom's Technical Director Zahir Valiyev said.

Komplas won the tender to construct the NGN in Ganja, Sumgayit and Absheron. "After solving the issue Aztelekom and Komplas will sign an agreement," Valiyev said. "Aztelekom plans to introduce NGN services to those three regions by the end of the year," he said.

Previously, the Slovenian Iskratel constructed and put into operation the NGN in Shamakhi and its 23 villages. Now, all Shamakhi residents can use IP telephony services, internet, TV and data services.

NGN (Next Generation Network) is a universal multi-purpose network for transmitting speech, images and data by using the commutations of packages. NGN Network ensures quality of service necessary for different types of telecommunication traffic. Introducing this technology will allow the subscribers to take advantage of using such services such as VIP-telephone, voice mail, data transmission service, multimedia services, private virtual networks, unified message exchange, on-line message exchange, interactive speech reply services, interactive games, video conferences and home manager.
