Oracle’s Income Exceeds $5bln

Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 April / Trend / In the third quarter of 2008 fiscal year, the aggregate income of the Oracle corporation grew by 21% and comprised $5.3bln, its operative income rose by 35% to $1.9bln and its net income increased by 30% to $1.3bln.

The company reported that the aggregate income from selling software grew by 21% to $4.2bln, and income from selling new software licenses rose by16% to $1.6bln.

The income from selling new licenses for database management systems and middleware rose by 20%, while income from selling new licenses for applications grew by 7%.

"During the three quarters of this year we increased the income from the operative activities by 55%, which is 3 times more than in the last five years," the President and the Financial Director of Oracle Safra Catz said.

"The income from the extension of software licenses increased by 23 achieving $2.6bln. We hope the annual figure will exceed $10bln in the next quarter," the Chief Executive Director of Oracle Larry Ellison said.

Oracle, the largest corporative software manufacturer, was established in 1977. In the 2007 fiscal year, Oracle's sale totalled $18bln.

Oracle is operating in 145 countries and has over 275,000 clients, 68,000 employees, 14,000 developers and 19,000 partners worldwide.
