Azerbaijan has launched the test money transfer via the MTF/STEFI system with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry said.
"Despite the agreement with postal administration of these countries were signed several years ago, the test money transfer operation was launched the other day," the Ministry said.
STEFI (Secured Transfer of Electronic Financial Information) is the money transfer system of the Universal Postal Union.
The real money transfer with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will be launched since March 1.
Azerbaijan implements money transfer via the МТF/STEFI system with Russia, Moldova, Belorussia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates. Azerbaijan plans to introduce the system with Estonia as well.
