Azerbaijan, Baku, April 9 / Trend , S.Babayeva/

The Azerbaijani Communication and Information Technology (IT) Ministry Coordination Council for development of Internet will hold a meeting in April, the ministry said.

"The meeting which was earlier scheduled for late March will focus on the current state of the country's Internet-market and just recent price cut for Internet," the ministry said.

Upon monitoring of the Ministry of Communication, prices for Internet services are at the level of regional ones in Azerbaijan. So, average prices for Internet via ADSL technologies in Azerbaijan correspond to average prices over the region. Prices for unlimited package per month for speed to 1Mbit/s total from 60 to 165 manat in Azerbaijan.

The next price-cutting for Internet may be examined in summer, Azerbaijani IT Minister Ali Abbasov said earlier.

The previous meeting of the Coordination Council approved edited and changed project Rules on domains with state codes in Azerbaijan.

The Council's functions include measures on development of Internet in Azerbaijan, registration, use of domains, rendering scientific-methodical assistance to organizations operating in this sphere.
