A contractor to design and launch Azerbaijan's communications satellite will be defined in June, Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov said.
"Results of tender on the project will be concluded in June," Abbasov added.
Five companies from the United States, Russia and France lodges an application for participation in the tender on launching the first telecommunications satellite to space.
The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has allocated three orbital positions to Azerbaijan to launch the satellite.
The launch of satellites will be realized at the expense of state budged and privileged loans. The first satellite is expected to be launched at expense of privileged loans.
Project's cost is $200 million.
The project will be profitable the next 15 years.
