Azerbaijan, Baku, July 6 / Trend , G.Veliyev /

The Computer Center of the Physics Institute will have a HSC for exchange of data with the European Center for Nuclear Researches (CERN), head of high energy laboratory Physics Institute of National Academy of Sciences Govsat Adbinov told Trend on July 6.

The discharge capacity of the channel is 34 megabytes per second and 20 megabytes of them will be given to the center. The Ministry of Communications and IT rendered assistance in organizing network, he said.

The Physics Institute initiated the establishment of GRID network, requiring computing power and fast channels.

Work over installation of computers to be set up in GRID network is complete. CERN gave over 300 computers to the Physics Institute and they will be connected by September. At present the establishment of necessary software is nearing to completion.

In October it is planned to launch big hadron collider by using distributed computer technology GRID. There will be a need for fast electronic for computing and saving, as well as processing, because giant flow of information (700 megabytes per second) will flow through each detector of the collider.

Presently, no super computer throughout the world can cope with the volume of data. Therefore, and distributed computer technology GRID will be applied here.

Computers installed in 140 institutes in 33 countries of the world will participate in data processing. The entire system will work online as one super powerful computer. Special computer centers have been installed worldwide to ensure an access of every physician participating in experiments through his/her PC. The system searches free resource and relevant software to solve a concrete task.
