Azerbaijan, Baku, July 25 / Trend G.Valiyev /

AZQTEL Company offering wireless access to internet through WIMAX technologies works on installation of a base station in the Mardakan settlement of Baku, the company told Trend .

Installation of new base stations will enable to ensure radio coating in this and nearby places of the suburb. Speed and quality will depend on a signal capacity and distance of a base station, the company said.

WIMAX technology is oriented on organization of symmetric wireless broadband wireless network to the internet, similar to a wired ADSL, as well as on the construction of distributed local area networks in areas with moderate and low buildings, such as suburban estates, country houses, where there is no way to connect wired access ADSL or any other access.

WIMAX networks are based on the same principles as a cellular network. However, unlike them, WIMAX base stations provide a broadband connection in the square with radius of more than 30 km with a capacity which can be compared with a cable connection up to 100 Mbps.

WIMAX distinguishes from other radio technologies for its stable work even in the absence of line-of-sight base station, using the reflected signal. This unique feature enables to maintain a stable high-speed channel in a dense urban sprawl.
