Four million manat invested in reconstruction and extension of Baku Telephone Network

A total of 3.85 million manat was invested in the Baku Production Association of Telephone Communication (BPATC) in the first half of 2009, the Azerbaijani Communication and Information Technologies Ministry said.

The investments were used to increase the capacity of the Automatic-Telephone System (ATS) to 3,782 units, as well as to establish a new line installation, the ministry said.

The public investments were directed to establish the Cables and Sewage Plants (CSP) with a length of 45 km along the Mardakan-Shuvelan-Gala-Turkan-Hovsan-Zyg route to ensure the governmental agencies with alternative means of communication. The 35km the CSP has been laid.

Construction of the 21 km length of 34.2 km CSP (in the direction of Sangachal ATS 491) was completed. This will enable to connect Garadagh telecommunications hub directly to the ATS of the BPATC (currently using resources of the Trans-Asia-Europe main), as well as to provide modern telecommunication services to companies located in the Garadagh region.
