U.S express delivery service to offer new services in Azerbaijan

U.S service FedEx plans to offer new services on express delivery and freight transportation oriented on the Azerbaijani market in the nearest future, Fedex Azerbaijan office told Trend . 

"Renewal of the company's strategy is connected with change of the leadership. Matius Ratner was appointed a new head of FedEx office in Azerbaijan," the office said.

At present, the company offers a variety of transport-logistics services, including urgent delivery of freights, rapid customs registration, delivery of parcels by the door, etc. to private and corporative clients on the Azerbaijani market.

Great number of air routes of the company and infrastructure turns FedEx Express into a largest express-transporter. It transports over 3.3 million items of mail to more than 220 world countries each day annually.

FedEx Express company was founded in Memphis (USA) in 1971. The company's annual income hit over $1 million by 1983. .

The company's net profit reduced 53 percent or $181 million in the first quarter of 2009-2010 of fiscal year completed on August 31 compared to $384 million for the same period of last year. The company's profit was reduced due to instability of the world financial crisis.

FedEx company is the second world largest company transporting valuable correspondence and freight. A staff of the company includes over 280,000 people.
