During the meeting held Nov. 23-24 in Minsk, the participants recognized as priorities holding electronic assemblies, providing assistance to ITU member countries making the transition to terrestrial digital broadcasting, training specialists on introducing broadband technologies, and providing electricity to rural ICT infrastructures and remote areas.
The meeting was attended by communications administration representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and the ITU.
The meeting opened with the presentation of ITU documents, including a report on realizing the Doha Action Plan, the implementation of the World Summit on Informational Society, and issues on future ITU-D sector activities.
Participants agreed on a final document, which was later issued on the ITU Web page.
Further preparations for the WTDC-10 will take place within the RCC Commission for Coordinating International Cooperation.
