Communications Ministry: Volume of ICT sector grows in Azerbaijan's GDP

In 2009, revenues from the ICT sector and postal services in the total GDP increased from 1.6 percent to 2 percent compared to 2008, the Communications and IT Ministry reported.
The share of income of the ICT sector and postal services in non-oil sector GDP amounted to 4.4 percent.
Some 80.1 percent of the income of the ICT sector and postal services fell to non-state enterprises. Some 70.3 percent of the total income fell to the mobile communication market, whose growth was 11 percent compared to the rates in 2008.
