Traffic transit to Iran via Azerbaijan is increased twice

Russian operator Rostelecom's transit of traffic (the largest operator of long-distance and international telecommunications services, Internet service provider) has been increased twice - up to 2.5 Gb / s through the primary network of Azerbaijani initial provider Delta Telecom to Iran, Delta Telecom technical director Rahid Alakbarli told Trend on Wednesday.

According to him, the increase in transit of traffic through the backbone of Delta Telecom became possible after the recent increase of bandwidth of traffic up to 10 Gbit / s in the direction of Azerbaijan by Russia's operator.

Today, one of the eight trunk lines, the capacity of each is 10 gigabit, is fully completed. The work to connect a second 10-gigabit line is underway.

Relationship between Rostelecom and Delta Telecom is based on the technologies DWDM. It allows Azerbaijani provider to render high quality services of transit traffic to Iran.

Transit of traffic is carried out according to the signed agreement to provide bilateral services to rent international digital channels between Rostelecom and the Iranian Telecommunication Infrastructure Company (TIC).
