Azerbaijan to acquaint with the operation of technological parks of Finland and Germany

Azerbaijan will get familiar with the operation of technological parks of Finland and Germany, the Institute of Information Technologies (IIT) of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan reported.

A delegation of the Academy of Sciences is scheduled to pay a visit in the mid 2010. The visit aims at exchanging experience in the field of technological innovations, acquaintance with the business support infrastructure in these countries, and establishing new business links.

Finland's technological parks and innovational centers cover an area of more than 0.5 million square meters. There are series of state organizations providing aid to businesses in Finland.

Technopolis is a company specialized in the provision of operating environment for high-tech companies in Finland. Components of Technopolis's concept are modern premises for doing business, services for companies and private individuals, business development services, and consulting. Over 900 companies and 12,000 people work for Technopolis's technological parks.  

Technopolis's technological centers supply their clients with modern high-class premises. Business services provided by Technopolis aim at establishing comfortable working conditions for employees of companies-clients and an increase of productivity of their work.

The Institute of Information Technologies will also acquaint with the innovational operations management system in Germany. There is no centralized network of innovational centers in Germany. Every region has its own structure, and several organizations specialized in promotion of innovations can exist inside one region. Germany's innovational centers are united in focusing at companies, which aim at use of technologies and development of new kinds of activity, through supporting the beginner companies with the entire spectrum of their services.

The project of construction of a technological park in Azerbaijan contains five directions, which will contribute essentially to implementation of the project. The list of main directions that must be realized comprises establishment of a DATA center, development of human resources, development of middle- and small-size entrepreneurship, attraction of investments, and development of the country's export potential. A state program has been worked out, legal provisions have been developed, and rules and normative documents have been specified for the functioning of a technological park. The Ministry has submitted its proposals over establishment of a technological park for consideration to the government.
