The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry registered a representative office of the Dutch company Simbrella Group under the name "Simbrella.Az" through the "single window" principle, the ministry said.
The company was registered Feb. 12 with a statutory fund of 100 euro. The office was founded by the Simbrella Group and Azerbaijani citizen Seymur Mammadov.
The company is working on the project to create a IMEI code mobile phone database. The project has already received regulatory and legal consolidation.
The new order foresees introducing a duty roster of IMEI equipment synthesis codes legally imported into Azerbaijan. Accordingly, unregistered equipment will be banned.
The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers approved a project to create a single IMEI code mobile phone database in the country. The government has instructed a number of ministries to prepare a coordination plan to form the basis for the project. Legislative issues concerning the project were also resolved. The launch of the system in trial operation may take several months, as it requires new equipment and software. All information will be provided in a unified center, which will be created in a government department.
Initially, the database will register GSM phones. The possibility of recording devices operating in CDMA standard will be reviewed in the future. It will be possible to check the existence of the ІМЕІ code in the so-called "white list" through the Internet.
The project provides for the registration of all mobile phones imported into Azerbaijan. The database will be fulfilled intensively through IMEI mobile hand-sets codes imported in Azerbaijan. Hardware and software turning off phones illegally imported into Azerbaijan will be connected to all phones when the legal framework on registering the IMEI mobile phone codes comes into force. After the formation of the database, it will be possible to have an idea about the state of the mobile phone market (market volume, number of legal and illegal products).
