A Working Group for Cooperation in the willingness of countries participating in Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC) to build an information society will define the main activities, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry reported.
The issue will be discussed at a meeting of the working group and the RCC Informatization Commission, to be held in Astana April 2-3. During the meetings the Ministry's Information Society Department head Rufat Gulmammadov will represent Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the development and unification of indicators of the participating countries' readiness to build the Information Society will be considered. It aimed at providing users with reliable statistical data in accordance with international statistical standards, the possibility of creating a unified inter-agency statistical information system aimed at improving managerial decision-making, and organizational issues of the working group.
