As a result of the first quarter, Azerbaijani mobile communication operators' subscriber base increased by 56,000, amounting 7,813,128 subscribers, the Communications and IT Ministry said.
The penetration rate of mobile communication in Azerbaijan made up 87 percent.
According to the statistics of the Ministry, 74.5 per cent of the incomes received by the telecommunications sector over the past period, fell to mobile operators.
At present, three are mobile operator - Azercell, Bakcell and Azerfon in Azerbaijan. Also the country provides services to operators working in the CDMA standard.
