Production Unit Aztelekom of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan starts reconstruction Goychay telecommunications node (TN) based on the NGN technologies, the Ministry told Trend.
According to the Ministry, the operator has completed the laying of fiber-optic backbone network with central automated telephone exchange in the direction of 18 rural automated telephone exchanges, and now conducts works on connecting cable main of four other rural automated telephone exchanges.
The supplier of telecommunications equipment is the Slovenian company İskratel, which within the reconstruction works will supply the necessary telecommunications equipment to complete the transfer of Goychay telecommunication node to the next-generation networks.
At present, the operator signed a contract for the construction of seven new buildings in rural automated telephone exchanges, and repair works are underway on the remaining telephone exchanges.
In order to provide broadband access the operator involved 200 ports of high-speed access. Internet services are provided by public Internet providers AztelekomNet and DATA Plus.
