In January and June metallurgical industry in Azerbaijan and fabricated metal products were produced to the amount of 83.1 million manat, or 39.4 percent more the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
Fabricated metal products during this period were made to the amount of 53,1 million manat, or more than one percent.
About 65,400 tons of steel castings were produced, or 2,5 times more than the same period last year.
The volume of reinforcement was 72,200 tons, or 46.1 percent more than January-June last year.
Production of cast iron was 730.9 tons, or 18.1 percent less than the same period last year.
Volume production of wires and cables made of ferrous metals reached 435.2 tons, 3.7 times more than in January - June of last year.
Export volume of semi-finished products made from ferrous metal, for five months amounted to 54,800 tons (worth $23.4 million), almost 15 times more compared to last year.
Export volume of angles and channels of black metal in January-May amounted to 17,800 tons (more than $ 8.3 million), or 36.3 percent more (amounting to 35.7 percent) than in 2009 .
During January-May, the volume of exported ferrous metal pipes made more than 14,300 tons (worth about $12.3 million), more than seven times compared to last year.
