Digital fund of Azerbaijani national library fully integrated into world digital library

Digital Fund of the National Library named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov has been fully integrated into World Digital Library, a source at the National Library told Trend.
Within project, the books, maps, posters, stamps and other materials stored at the National Library have been digitized and posted on the Internet.
Today, the activities of the library have been fully automated, a supervisory system of registration, accounting and obtaining books, as well as a card system for recording entry and exit at the building of the library have been introduced.
The Library's director Kerim Tairov said formerly that using advanced technologies, each library employee is able to transfer 10 books to the digital form per day.
Today, out of 240,000 regular visitors of online resource of the National Library, the number of potential readers of electronic catalogs library exceeds 120,000.
"Modernization of the National Library will make it one of the most advanced libraries in the world. Today, Austrian, German and Ukrainian companies have been involved for the renovation work in the Library with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Reconstruction of the library envisages the implementation of all necessary works for the next two years," Tahirov said.
