Blackberry messaging and internet browsing services are to be suspended in the United Arab Emirates as of October 11 over security concerns, the country's telecommunications regulator announced Sunday, dpa reported.
The regulator said data from the smart phone "is immediately exported off-shore, where it is managed by a foreign, commercial organization," which was "causing judicial, social and national security concerns for the UAE."
Last week, the regulator had said it was reviewing the Canadian- made smart phone's services.
