The number of broadband Internet users in the network of public Internet providers in Azerbaijan increased by 59,3 percent, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies said.
According to the ministry, the growth of a client base of providers amounted to more than 29,600 users, and today the number of connections through networks AztelekomNet and BakinterNet (taken together) exceeds 79.600 units.
The number of ports of broadband network involved in the production association Aztelekom, is 5,248 units. About 2,835 units were commissioned. Today broadband Internet AztelekomNet is available in 51 towns.
Number of ports of broadband network in the production association Baku telephone communication increased by 14,100 ports, and more than 39,000 units. More than 21,900 units were put into operation.
At present, the number of connections to broadband Internet services (including connections of commercial providers) exceeds 59,000 units.
According to statistics of the Ministry, about 41 Internet users fall to every 100 people. The number of personal computers per 100 people is 12 units.
