Azerbaijan ups volume of incoming traffic

The Azerbaijani Primary Internet Service Provider Delta Telecom company increased the volume of traffic coming in Azerbaijan for more than 3 Gb / s, reaching 35 Gb / s, Delta Telecom's Technical Director Rahid Alakbarli told Trend.

Delta Telecom system directly connected to one of Europe's biggest points of Internet exchange in Stockholm, which enhances the status of Delta Telecom as an effective operator of the passage services IP-traffic for Azerbaijani operators.

The company's traffic comes through optical lines from Iran, Russia and Turkey. The data transmission rate within the country reaches up to 40 Gbps through the use of transport technology DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing).

Actual data transfer speed in the company's backbone network exceeds the real needs of the segment AzNet. The actual data transfer rate of Delta Telecom network allows to download information equal to the total capacity of 33 DVD-media for a second.

The presence of high-speed network infrastructure allows Delta Telecom to implement the traffic flow to neighboring countries. Some of the traffic is realized in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

The company's network infrastructure plays a transit role in connecting the telecommunications infrastructures of Russia and Iran. More than 10 percent (1.25 Gbps) bandwidth is involved in the traffic transit. In general, the company's infrastructure can increase bandwidth to 10 Gbps.
