Bakcell is proud to announce that it as a responsible corporate citizen and in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy to help children in need, held a Big Event to support SOS Children's Villages' project in Azerbaijan. The children's event named "Children Singing for Peace" was hosted within the Bakcell's CSR program named "Bakcell Stars" at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater. During the event, the children performed a concert program dedicated to the UN International Peace Day.
Ms. Ineke Botter, Bakcell CEO welcomed the children and guests at the event by saying that "Bakcell truly believes that every child is a star and their dreams can become true. Last year Bakcell Stars helped to organize a choir for the children living at the SOS Children Villages - Azerbaijan. We hired a teacher to give singing lessons to the children and they are now ready to demonstrate their talent to a bigger audience. A choir is a great experience for them to work together and express their talents. I am really pleased to see how these children grew up, became self-confident and made great friends with each other."
On September 21st Bakcell Stars will launch a SMS Campaign to contribute to the expansion of SOS Children's Villages' project. The Campaign will continue for two weeks and will allow Bakcell subscribers to donate AZN 1 or 450 contours by replying or sending a SMS to 1155 short code. Bakcell Stars opened its own bank account and works in a financially transparent and auditable manner.
SOS Children's Villages is functioning in Azerbaijan since 2000. 150 children deprived of parental care grow up in Baku and Ganja SOS Children's Villages at present. All needed circumstances and facilities are offered for them to build their own future. The organization's slogan is: "A loving home for every child".
