The network infrastructure of the Azerbaijani mobile operator LLC Bakcell is fully ready to provide 3G standard communication services, Bakcell CEO Inekke Botter said.

The talks to obtain the required licenses and frequencies are underway, following which the network would be commercially launched, Botter said.

This will allow the company to increase the range of services offered to subscribers, including data services, mobile TV, etc.

Bakcell works to install base stations that support the new communication standard, as well as to replace the existing base stations with new ones.

Bakcell subscriber network will reach 2.1 million users by late 2010, Botter said. The company plans to attract new subscribers thanks to voice services, as well as data services.
