Upcoming int’l conferences to discuss Azerbaijan and Iran’s cooperation in postal communication

Cooperation of Azerbaijan and Iran's postal communication administrations will be discussed during the upcoming international conferences, Communications and IT Ministry Postal Communications Department Head Novruz Mammadov told Trend today.

He said this issue will be considered within the Economic Cooperation Organization's meeting, to be held in Astana in late October, during the fall session of the Universal Postal Union, to be held in Bern (Switzerland) in late October-early November, as well as within the meeting of the CEPT - Conference of European Post and Telecommunications is Istanbul Nov.24-25.
At present, the sides already have a preliminary agreement on cooperation in money transfer, international mail, land mail to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic via Iran, and the joint issue of postage stamps.

Cooperation with Iran in the postal communication is carried out under a memorandum signed between the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry and Iran's Ministry of Information and Communication during President Ilham Aliyev's first visit to Tehran March 10, 2009.

According to the document, it's planned to hold regular bilateral meetings.
