EU says Azerbaijan ready to be connected to eTwining program

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.14 / Trend, H.Valiyev /

The European Union stated about Azerbaijan's readiness to be connected to the eTwining program, Education System Informatization Department under the Azerbaijani Education Ministry said today.

Students from different countries can communicate and exchange information on culture and history through a special Internet portal created as part of eTwinning. The program has been implemented for five years and during this period thousands of teachers and students from different countries have established relations over the Internet.

The necessary conditions for compliance with this platform exist in Azerbaijan. Each year, information and communication technologies become more accessible in educational institutions, and existing opportunities to use e-learning allow Azerbaijan to join this platform much faster than other South Caucasus countries. But the final decision will depend on the government, which will evaluate the project, Ramil Suleymanov, Director of Training and Monitoring Section of the Department of Informatization of the Education System under the Education Ministry told Trend earlier.
