Azerbaijan will be represented at the world competition of innovative teachers, to be held in Cape Town (South Africa) on Oct.26-29, Microsoft Azerbaijan said.

The right to participate in the competition was received during the European Innovative Education Forum (EIEF), held in Berlin in March.

A teacher of Baku school No 8 Ilhama Akperova will represent Azerbaijan at the event. She is the winner of the Azerbaijani stage of the competition of innovative teachers, conducted by Microsoft together with the Ministry of Education. Akperova was among the top 20 teachers by representing Azerbaijan with the project "Polyhedron around us" in Innovation in Content.

EIEF Annual Forum is a part of Microsoft non-commercial initiative "Partnership in Education". Its main goal is to help teachers and students to realize their potential by using information technologies in education. This year's event is expected to bring together more than 500 teachers, principals, media representatives and other people engaged in the education representing more than 75 countries. Teachers will be competing for one of 13 worldwide innovative educational awards.

The principals participating in the event will present some most innovative schools in the world.
